The Return of the Neutrals NYFW Spring 2013

Hello Fashion Lovers!

We meet again at an exciting time of the year when as summer comes to an end, we're teased by the fashion world on what to expect to see next year when the flowers bloom again.
So far, for the ladies who love to follow trends, they'll have to put away their bright neons because neutral colors have been ruling the runaway. It all indicates that Spring 2013 will be more demure  in tone than the past season, but never boring.
Black, White, Navy, Khaki, other neutral colors, combined with electric hues of blue, green and corals, and coordinated prints will set the tone for next Spring. I personally love filling the wardrobe with neutrals and colors that never go out of style, so for next season a lot of smart fashionistas won't have any difficulties with keeping up with the latest trends. The details all lie on the execution of the garments, in which every designer gets a chance to shine and really show their artistic input and creativity.

I'll be reviewing my favorite designers promptly.
'Till then sit tight and enjoy the last days of summer :-)

NYFW Spring/Summer 2012- Marc by Marc Jacobs & Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs... I love his designs... especially what we does for Louis Vuitton. Why don't I feel inspired by his current collections then? I felt that I had to mention him because he is one of my favorite American designers, and he has done so much to push the envelope and American fashion internationally.... however, I didn't feel much excitement with his S/S 2012 collection. So all I have to say is that I am looking forward to see his amazing designs as an art director for Louis Vuitton this coming Paris Fashion Week, and say that my love for him will still remain strong. I just refuse to pretend I like something, when in reality might not be the case. It's not like I disliked every single piece, I loved some of the jackets and outfits, but for some reason it didn't excite me as much as I thought it would or past collections.

NYFW Spring/Summer 2012- DKNY & Donna Karan

I know I've gone missing once again, but it doesn't mean that I didn't accompany the rest of NYFW... now we're already enjoying the London Fashion Week and I am very excited to share with you all the amazing designs seen on the runaway. However, before we head across the ocean, I thought that there were some designers worth mentioning from NYFW.
No one does NY better than Donna Karan. She is able to portray the lay back style of the downtown girl with her DKNY collection, and the sophisticated allure from the Uptown woman.
Here are some of the designs shown on the runaway last week that I believe could work well for many women with different body shapes and style. What makes an outfit different is how you style it, your body type, and your overall demeanor. Obviously my choices bellow are heavily influenced by my age, nevertheless, I see women of all ages being able to pull off some of these outfits.

DKNY: I'm loving the jacket, and the shoes. I'm not a big fan of bermuda shorts, but if you have long legs it's a great outfit for an informal office.

DKNY: I'm loving this whole look!

DKNY: I feel in love with those skinny pants at first, but I'm digging this coat as well

DKNY: Very sexy dress without being trashy.

DKNY: I think this sweater shirt is delicious.

DKNY: A young professional look. For those ladies working at an environment that has a more casual professional dress code.

DKNY: Love this cute outfit.

DKNY: Isn't this dress delightful? I would never leave the house in all pink, but I'm really into that big pink bag as well... I would wear all items separate, but the dress looks lovely paired with that bag.

DKNY: This is a very casual going for a drink in the evening look. Just the right amount of sparkle and fun.

Donna Karan: Not a fan of the top, but this full printed skirt it's very interesting.

Donna Karan: This purple dress is very pretty. If you have a great figure (hour glass, slender, petite) it can work for a lot of women.

Donna Karan: Nice dress for a casual event.

Donna Karan: I only fell in love with the pants.

Donna Karan: I think this color works on various skin tones... unless you have red hair.

Donna Karan: Green is the theme for next Spring and Summer.

Donna Karan: Again, one of those colors that just looks good on different women.

Style is something personal, but I believe everyone should give at least DKNY a chance.

NYFW Spring/Summer 2012- Carolina Herrera

There are hundred of designers showing during this NYFW, so it's really difficult for lil old me to talk about every single collection seen on the runway for next spring. Nevertheless, there are some designers worth mentioning because of not only their status on the fashion universe, but also because they tend to be the favorites of celebrities and fashion lovers.
Carolina Herrera has long been a synonym of understated elegance, with her designs usually having an understated chic allure.
Her new collection for spring/summer 2012 felt to me that it was a bit more ambitious than her past stuff, with some outfits working wonderfully, and some others just being too busy. Overall, there were some wonderful pieces that could easily be incorporated on a everyday wardrobe, and make anyone's professional and casual look seem much more polished and put together without much effort. Some of the evening gowns were gorgeous, and I am sure to see some being worn by some starlets on a red carpet event.

This in my opinion is a good example of her bird print working on an outfit without seeming too much. The jacket looks really good.

Loving this coat.

When I go back to work, this is the type of outfit I'll be looking forward to wear at the office on the days I don't feel so well. Yellow is such a happy color!

Another chic look for the office, or fun a fun day around town.

Simple cute dress for the weekend.

I am in love with this jacket.

The fit of this dress is simply stunning.

Casual fridays should always be like this.

This dress is fierce. It has that "powerful woman on the go" feel.

This dress is very elegant, yet simple.

Another casual fun outfit.

Love this coat!

I would wear this dress with the coat above.

Very beautiful fit.

Loving the canary yellow.

This was my favorite gown.

NYFW Spring/Summer 2012- Zac Posen

Fashion Lovers,
Zac Posen has returned to NYFW with a BAM! His collection is simply a gorgeous. I am in lost for words to describe how amazing this collection is. From old hollywood glamour, the colors, the cuts, the fabrics, and everything in between, Posen's collection makes up any girl's dream wardrobe. The collection was mainly comprised of cocktail and evening dresses, but if feeling like a Cinderella is your dream in life, let's just say that every outfit would be a dream come true.
I am simply in love with every single outfit presented on the runaway, and it's extraordinary how such a young designer has mastered the art of approachable couture. Get ready to see some of the most amazing dresses during the award season, as well as celebrity events around the globe.
Bellow are some of my favorite looks from the collection, however, it's unfair for me to comment on them because in reality I loved them all. They were all glamourous, chic, or simply delicious. Enjoy!

I just love it how he is still faithful to his muse Coco Rocha :-)

NYFW Spring/Summer 2012- Diane Von Fursternberg

The big names are now starting to show their faces. Let's start with DVF's collection that walked down the runaway on Sept. 11th. I imagine that the designers who showed on that particular date would've much rather not, however, the true triumph of showing in such a delicate date shows the determination of all Americans, and that as life goes on they keep on getting stronger.
Her collection had an exotic allure, paired with a splash of vintage early 60's clothes with a modern twist. The theme of choice for next season's trend is obviously the 60's, and it honestly just makes me miss Mad Men a lot. Getting back to DVF, what I like about her collection is that her dresses are all impeccably tailored, clean, but fun at the same time. She played well with colors and tons of fun prints and fabrics.

Love this knitted top.

Casual chic as is the norm with DVF.

A great way to make any outfit interesting is just pairing a basic white shirt with a bright colored bottom and a fun clutch.

Very beautiful color. I love salmon for dresses, and the greek goddess type cut is gorgeous.

Loving the fun print, especially the fact that it's not so matchy matchy.

This one has got that Mad Men retro vibe.

Very interesting outfit in my opinion. Loving it!

Once again the 60's theme prevails.

I love this mint colored jumper. It's got that vintage vibe with a modern twist.

Crisp fresh colored outfit for those hot summer days.

Channeling your inner tomb-boy without compromising femininity.

Pencil dresses are great for any body shape. It emphasizes curves on all the right places.

This green is not my favorite color, but I would rock this dress if it came in a brighter shade.

Hope you're all enjoying fashion week.
