NYFW Spring/Summer 2012- Marc by Marc Jacobs & Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs... I love his designs... especially what we does for Louis Vuitton. Why don't I feel inspired by his current collections then? I felt that I had to mention him because he is one of my favorite American designers, and he has done so much to push the envelope and American fashion internationally.... however, I didn't feel much excitement with his S/S 2012 collection. So all I have to say is that I am looking forward to see his amazing designs as an art director for Louis Vuitton this coming Paris Fashion Week, and say that my love for him will still remain strong. I just refuse to pretend I like something, when in reality might not be the case. It's not like I disliked every single piece, I loved some of the jackets and outfits, but for some reason it didn't excite me as much as I thought it would or past collections.

NYFW Spring/Summer 2012- DKNY & Donna Karan

I know I've gone missing once again, but it doesn't mean that I didn't accompany the rest of NYFW... now we're already enjoying the London Fashion Week and I am very excited to share with you all the amazing designs seen on the runaway. However, before we head across the ocean, I thought that there were some designers worth mentioning from NYFW.
No one does NY better than Donna Karan. She is able to portray the lay back style of the downtown girl with her DKNY collection, and the sophisticated allure from the Uptown woman.
Here are some of the designs shown on the runaway last week that I believe could work well for many women with different body shapes and style. What makes an outfit different is how you style it, your body type, and your overall demeanor. Obviously my choices bellow are heavily influenced by my age, nevertheless, I see women of all ages being able to pull off some of these outfits.

DKNY: I'm loving the jacket, and the shoes. I'm not a big fan of bermuda shorts, but if you have long legs it's a great outfit for an informal office.

DKNY: I'm loving this whole look!

DKNY: I feel in love with those skinny pants at first, but I'm digging this coat as well

DKNY: Very sexy dress without being trashy.

DKNY: I think this sweater shirt is delicious.

DKNY: A young professional look. For those ladies working at an environment that has a more casual professional dress code.

DKNY: Love this cute outfit.

DKNY: Isn't this dress delightful? I would never leave the house in all pink, but I'm really into that big pink bag as well... I would wear all items separate, but the dress looks lovely paired with that bag.

DKNY: This is a very casual going for a drink in the evening look. Just the right amount of sparkle and fun.

Donna Karan: Not a fan of the top, but this full printed skirt it's very interesting.

Donna Karan: This purple dress is very pretty. If you have a great figure (hour glass, slender, petite) it can work for a lot of women.

Donna Karan: Nice dress for a casual event.

Donna Karan: I only fell in love with the pants.

Donna Karan: I think this color works on various skin tones... unless you have red hair.

Donna Karan: Green is the theme for next Spring and Summer.

Donna Karan: Again, one of those colors that just looks good on different women.

Style is something personal, but I believe everyone should give at least DKNY a chance.

NYFW Spring/Summer 2012- Diane Von Fursternberg

The big names are now starting to show their faces. Let's start with DVF's collection that walked down the runaway on Sept. 11th. I imagine that the designers who showed on that particular date would've much rather not, however, the true triumph of showing in such a delicate date shows the determination of all Americans, and that as life goes on they keep on getting stronger.
Her collection had an exotic allure, paired with a splash of vintage early 60's clothes with a modern twist. The theme of choice for next season's trend is obviously the 60's, and it honestly just makes me miss Mad Men a lot. Getting back to DVF, what I like about her collection is that her dresses are all impeccably tailored, clean, but fun at the same time. She played well with colors and tons of fun prints and fabrics.

Love this knitted top.

Casual chic as is the norm with DVF.

A great way to make any outfit interesting is just pairing a basic white shirt with a bright colored bottom and a fun clutch.

Very beautiful color. I love salmon for dresses, and the greek goddess type cut is gorgeous.

Loving the fun print, especially the fact that it's not so matchy matchy.

This one has got that Mad Men retro vibe.

Very interesting outfit in my opinion. Loving it!

Once again the 60's theme prevails.

I love this mint colored jumper. It's got that vintage vibe with a modern twist.

Crisp fresh colored outfit for those hot summer days.

Channeling your inner tomb-boy without compromising femininity.

Pencil dresses are great for any body shape. It emphasizes curves on all the right places.

This green is not my favorite color, but I would rock this dress if it came in a brighter shade.

Hope you're all enjoying fashion week.

NYFW Spring/Summer 2012- Peter Som

So much to report!!! Here is another collection that I really enjoyed. I know that there are a lot of designers stealing the lime light at the moment, but I would much rather report on the ones that I truly enjoyed. I am not the kind of person to just agree with what everyone says, and well... this blog is supposed to share the things I love, so here it goes.
Bold prints, a cool surfer style type feel... this collection makes me think of the ocean, the sun, the 60's, and well my beautiful Miami Beach. Being raised in Miami, we really learn how to appreciate prints and colors; it is a part of our culture, nonetheless, it can't be done unless it's in a classy way. People there really care how they look, and they pride on looking pristine in every occasion. Every European friend I have that has visited Miami says the same thing "Been to a lot of places but here you have the beach, the sun, and beautiful classy people".
Peter Som is not influenced by Miami in anyway, but he comes from sunny California so that's close enough.

This makes me think of a day on Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, FL.

A cute dress that works in the evening, without looking heavy during spring time.

I love this dress, it can transition from day to evening by changing the shoes and accessories.

I am loving this outfit, I would match it would a nude or dark chiffon loose tank top underneath the jacket.

I'm feeling this high waisted hot pants style swim suit.

Simple but easy to accessorize. Add a bold belt, and some colorful jewelry and you have something fun yet simple.

I love the top! I would pair it with a nice dark wash skinny jeans.

I would wear each piece mixing it up with a different shirt or bottom.

This outfit I would pair it with nice colorful jewelry.

Love this coral dress... again a color that looks good in every woman.

I can see myself wearing this at a yacht party in the evening.

Miami days, don't need to say much more than that.

Fashion is all about choosing what's right for you and making it work with your body, and personality. Don't discard a whole outfit from a collection if you don't like the way they styled something going down the runaway.

NYFW Spring/Summer 2012- Cynthia Rowley

Who said Spring was all about bright colors and whites? If you're a fan of rock & roll, and you would rather wear something with an edge then Cynthia Rowley's runway on September 9th quenched your thirst for classic cool.
I am loving all the different patterns the satiny silk dresses and blouses, the metallic shades and the leather that went down the runway. I won't say much about the whole show because you can go see it for yourself, but I must say that even though my style of choice is more a classic garments with clean cut lines, I do indulge with the occasional edgy outfit and I wouldn't hesitate in incorporating some of those pieces on my wardrobe next spring.

This dress is so Carrie Bradshaw in my opinion. Not every girl can pull off wearing a bold print, on a silk-satin dress. A mix of edgy and classic in one dress.

From this outfit I'm mostly loving the pants.

This is the t-shirt look with an edge. The pants won't look good on curvy bottoms because of the print going across the hip area, but pair the top with the previous skinny pants and voila!

I'm feeling this dress a lot.

I love me some white dress. More than the LBD we all love, I tend to go straight to my LWD instead.

Love those metallic shorts.

I know I'm a bit late in reviewing certain shows, but I have been busy shopping for my baby's room, and new furniture for the house. I am in love with my new couch... So comfy! I am definitely going through the nesting phase; fixing the house is all I think about now.

Stay fashionably cool!

NYFW Spring/Summer 2012- Luca Luca

Pink luscious lips... and lots of fun colors. I honestly enjoyed watching Luca Luca's collection, and I can't wait for spring to come again and allow me to rock some lustrous pink lips.
Aside from the amazing hair and make-up from the show, I loved most of the outfits showcased on the runaway. In my opinion, the outfits exuded a cool yet feminine-chic vibe that appeals to all ages. I liked the fact that variety was an important element on the show; from sheer fabrics, satins, stripes, polka-dots, vibrant colors, to black or white... there is a piece that meets all tastes and demands.
Bellow are some of my favorite looks.

Simple yet chic.

Casual cool, makes me miss Miami Beach.

Some people say they're tired of rompers, but what they don't understand is that a classic cut is an easy alternative for the "little black dress effect".

I love this white ensemble.

Hot pink looks good on every skin tone! Don't be afraid to own it!

The minute I saw this I joked with my husband that he should go get it for me.
