NYFW Spring/Summer 2012- Cynthia Rowley

Who said Spring was all about bright colors and whites? If you're a fan of rock & roll, and you would rather wear something with an edge then Cynthia Rowley's runway on September 9th quenched your thirst for classic cool.
I am loving all the different patterns the satiny silk dresses and blouses, the metallic shades and the leather that went down the runway. I won't say much about the whole show because you can go see it for yourself, but I must say that even though my style of choice is more a classic garments with clean cut lines, I do indulge with the occasional edgy outfit and I wouldn't hesitate in incorporating some of those pieces on my wardrobe next spring.

This dress is so Carrie Bradshaw in my opinion. Not every girl can pull off wearing a bold print, on a silk-satin dress. A mix of edgy and classic in one dress.

From this outfit I'm mostly loving the pants.

This is the t-shirt look with an edge. The pants won't look good on curvy bottoms because of the print going across the hip area, but pair the top with the previous skinny pants and voila!

I'm feeling this dress a lot.

I love me some white dress. More than the LBD we all love, I tend to go straight to my LWD instead.

Love those metallic shorts.

I know I'm a bit late in reviewing certain shows, but I have been busy shopping for my baby's room, and new furniture for the house. I am in love with my new couch... So comfy! I am definitely going through the nesting phase; fixing the house is all I think about now.

Stay fashionably cool!

NYFW Spring/Summer 2012- Luca Luca

Pink luscious lips... and lots of fun colors. I honestly enjoyed watching Luca Luca's collection, and I can't wait for spring to come again and allow me to rock some lustrous pink lips.
Aside from the amazing hair and make-up from the show, I loved most of the outfits showcased on the runaway. In my opinion, the outfits exuded a cool yet feminine-chic vibe that appeals to all ages. I liked the fact that variety was an important element on the show; from sheer fabrics, satins, stripes, polka-dots, vibrant colors, to black or white... there is a piece that meets all tastes and demands.
Bellow are some of my favorite looks.

Simple yet chic.

Casual cool, makes me miss Miami Beach.

Some people say they're tired of rompers, but what they don't understand is that a classic cut is an easy alternative for the "little black dress effect".

I love this white ensemble.

Hot pink looks good on every skin tone! Don't be afraid to own it!

The minute I saw this I joked with my husband that he should go get it for me.

Soundtrack of the Day- Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall by Coldplay

I must confess I have a thing for British bands... but my love affair with Coldplay started ages ago since 1999 (in all fairness I was 12 years old then, and I know they existed as a band under a different name before that).
Anyway, today is the beginning of another weekend, it's summer time, the day is bright, sunny and warm. Days like these call for a positive upbeat song that just makes you see every color a bit brighter than it might appear. Music influences the way I feel quite often, so by making a pleasant memory with a particular song, it enables me to recreate that same feeling even during a cloudy, stormy, and rainy day.
When I heard this song for the first time, automatically I started thinking about a lively city, where people just went about their business with a full smile on their faces. Perhaps that thought it's far fetched from our daily reality, but since you can't control how others feel, your best bet is to control your own attitude and just carry on through the day as if "Every siren is a symphony/ And every tear's a waterfall".
Enjoy your weekend, and keep up the feel good nature of summer.
And for those on the Southern Hemisphere... Listen to something that takes you to where the sunshine is.

One Small Step for Myself... A Big Step for the Family.

Today I am writing one of the most personal entries to date (I used to write on other blog sites reviewing artists and such).
I am happy to share with the world that from today forward I am a married woman.  My husband and I had a simple ceremony at the City Hall, with two of his co-workers as witnesses. Both our families live in different cities from us, but we still felt that it was important to us to have our child as a legally bound family.
This is a touchy issue, as I know that people have different views on marriage and children in general. I reside in Canada (for now) where living common-law is a strong as an official marriage certificate especially when there is a child involved, but we felt it was important to us to be able to seal the deal so that no matter where we go, we'll always be a family.
We'll be planning on having another small ceremony in the presence of our families, and an exquisite reception. As of now, I like it that we shared this moment with the people who matters most- each other.
Wishing everyone a delicious week...
